Social networking is a new trend that has grown to exponential heights in the past years. Billions of members have joined Myspace, Facebook, Friendster, and other similar sites to reconnect with old friends and find new ones. The popularity of these sites is so awe-striking that businesses have jumped on the wagon by developing sites such as Zoodango, LinkedIn, Ryze and others. These particular sites are called business networking sites, geared for the professional to make other professional connections. While these are useful and worth exploring, they haven’t gained the following that social sites have.

The business sites are failing to offer one aspect that the social sites are crawling with—prospects. While business networking sites offer great professional connections, the people you would want to reach as clients aren’t present here. So many businesses have joined the realm of social networking and taken advantage of the large number of prospects to expand their businesses. By becoming a member yourself, you can add a multitude of “friends” to your contact list and grow your potential clientele. Think of it as an email list as on auto responders, and the only opt-in feature is others approving you as a friend. Now, your only task is to keep in contact with them and send out your valuable information and subtle ads.

You can use many features options to contact your “friends” such as unlimited bulletins that when posted appear on every one of your friends’ home page for them to view. You can also send private messages to individuals as you see fit. Another benefit to these social networking sites is that they provide a free web page that is easy to personalize and change as often as you change your underwear. Colors, fonts, and layouts can be altered to fit your business design with simple codes that are available all over the Internet. These personal web pages give you a look that can attract others to your page and keep them coming back.

Social networking sites also have the added benefit of specific forums for you to have the professional connection you crave. You can find the forum that is right for you, become a member, and start chatting about tactics, advice, or any other issue related to your topic.

Thousands of businesses are already harnessing the power that social networking can provide for their business. Jump in and see how it can help you. What do you have to lose? Business?!

Social networking is the new buzzword on the Internet. It is a new, exciting and simple way of connecting with friends and people, whether for friendship or even for commercial reasons. There are different websites that offer social networking, and these websites have their own bouquet of features.

Some websites have the user create their account and create their complete profile. They allow the user to upload their image galleries and even videos. Depending on the completion of the profile, they can then be searched by others, and a proper network can be created. A user’s network is completely controlled by the user, and they can decide who they wish to add on their network and who not. Some social networking websites have a special feature where anyone can post a personal message to the user, which can be read by anyone, until the user decides to delete the message.

Apart from these basic features, some social networking websites have advanced features. For example, they allow the users to play small Flash games. These social networking websites also have other features which are popular amongst most social networking website users.

Advantages of Social Networking Websites:

Social networking websites are a very good option for people who do not have much time in their real time for socializing. They also actually allow users to reconnect with any of their long lost friends.

Social networking is by large a very harmless way to meet new people and connect with them. With the help of the profiles, you can know much more about a person than one would require for a first meet. And who knows, once two people meet, anything can happen!

Social networking websites are useful for professional reasons as well as personal reasons. Many professionals use social networking websites to forward their professional careers. Some professionals also meet people in their same professions and connect with them. This not only gives more information of the professional, it also creates a common knowledge base for the said profession.

Social networking websites can also be used for marketing of a particular product or a service. Almost all social networking websites are free to join, and the number of people on a social networking websites are just too much to be ignored by a marketing professional.

Disadvantages of Social Networking Websites

Social Networking Websites, to be very frank, have little or no disadvantages. The use and misuse of a social networking website is all depending on the user. However, there are some precautions to be taken when signing up for a social networking website, and this is where Social Networking Websites falter.

For example, one of the first rules of online life is to give as minimum personal information as possible. But at a Social Networking Website, the user would have to fill an entire profile to make the networking fundamental actually work for the user.

Social networking websites are also known to be misused by advertisers. The free signup and the feature to connect and contact with anyone has made open a entire people to receive unwanted advertisements and other content.

However, social networking websites depends on the user. It is all up to the user, whether they can make their experience a good one or a bad one.

Myspace is a household name, so why cant your band be that as well? With the innovation and the recognition of Myspace as a viable marketing and networking option, new users are signing up each and every day for a variety of reasons and while Myspace caters to just about every group and interest, it is the musicians that have the chance to benefit the most.

The Music section of Myspace sees a lot of traffic, and that is a major understatement. With so much information presented, it is easy to become lost in the shuffle. New bands that have decided to use Myspace as a way to display their talents may become discouraged as the weeks pass by and no one is listening to their songs. This is an important and a major concern for those establishing a presence on Myspace. Being invisible on a social networking site is simply depressing and when you are trying to make a name and a presence for yourself, it is discouraging as well.

So how does one avoid being invisible on Myspace?

This question has a relatively simple answer but the exact procedure on how to accomplish it may be a little more complex. It is no longer enough to simply set up a page, invite a few random friends and wait. Extra steps are needed.

First, here’s a quick lesson in basics:

Bands are able to post songs on their page for visitors to listen to. How many times the songs are played are calculated and displayed for the public to see. Visitors to the site can see the amount of Total Plays, the amount of plays for that day or Plays Today, and the plays for each individual song. These plays counts are perhaps the most important part of your page. It will be theses counts that will persuade many of the guests to take a listen to what you have to offer. The higher the counts, the more realistic it is to say that more people will take notice of your band. This is simply common logic.

Using promotional tools is a great way to achieve the play counts which will attract and keep people coming back to your site. Soon you will notice your band ranked among the Top Artists. More Myspace Plays is a proven tool that will increase play counts, gather recognition, and help you climb the Myspace music ranks.

Another way to determine popularity of a band is how many Friends are listed. While this is secondary concern, with Myspace plays counts being primary, those Friends can say a lot about the band. You will need more than just Tom listed to attract fans and devotees to your site. Make strides and invite those with similar interests and musicians that you admire or that share your genre.

The amount of Friends listed is another visual way of displaying that you are indeed, not invisible, and have a definite presence on Myspace. Sure, guests will want you to be your friend but taking that first step will be appreciated and show that you are friendly and personable.

Invisibility on Myspace is simply not something an up and coming musician needs. Making a presence, having popular songs, and attracting friends and fans are all ways to stave off invisibility.

TuneBoom Pro is now available beyond the major labels and artists and to the independent artist for the first time. Market your music like TODAYS MOST POPULAR ARTISTS! Use EXACTLY the same strategies used by Todays Mega Superstars at:

Popular social networking website MySpace.com has taken their operation to a new level in the last year. Pushed hard by competition from competing websites which attempt to piggyback off of their idea, MySpace has constantly been looking for different ways to get ahead and keep their largely youthful member base. Though there have been quite a few different things added to MySpace over the last few months, one of the most popular has been the new MySpace backgrounds which can be customized and uploaded easily. MySpace is now becoming much more than just a place to keep up with friends. Now, it is a place to make a statement about who you are and what you love.

With that in mind, what exactly does your MySpace profile say about you? Obviously, the information held there is going to be the primary way that people get to know you. How else might you communicate your personality through that profile? MySpace backgrounds offer an easy and creative way to differentiate your profile from all of the other profiles on the website. Any fool can make a profile with a generic background. It takes someone with real personality to get a custom MySpace background. If you are planning on installing one of these MySpace backgrounds, it’s important to consider the message that you are sending.

When someone visits your MySpace profile page, the first thing they will hear is your music. Along those same lines, the first thing they will see is that fancy background. This means that you will have an opportunity to make a first impression that a person isn’t soon to forget. How do you do this and what things should you keep in mind before choosing a profile? Well, in order to make a good impression, you should choose something that’s fun, easy on the eyes, and descriptive of your lifestyle. You have to keep your senses in order, though. A crazy MySpace background will take away from the other content on the page.

If you happen to like a sports team, then don’t be afraid to show your stuff. Your MySpace background should represent you in a way that you are proud of. It should let people know what sorts of things that you are really into. When deciding on a different layout, you should try to pick something that is likely to be important to you for a long period of time. Though it’s not all that difficult to change your MySpace background, it’s not something that you’ll want to make a habit of. By choosing something that has substantial meaning to your life, chances are that you will enjoy the background much more.

The internet offers tons of Myspace Backgrounds for you to choose. Don?t be afraid to look over tons of them and make a great choice that will add life and personality to the profile. For a look at some of the coolest MySpace background layouts on the entire internet, visit http://www.killacodes.com. There, you are sure to find something that fits.

Despite the controversy about predators lurking on social networking sites, these sites are setting a new trend when it comes to making money online. One such site leading the pack is Yuwie. Similar to the others like MySpace, Facebook, FriendsWin, hi5, and Xianz, to name a few, Yuwie has the distinction of being the only one to pay its members for what they normally do for free on the other sites.

In less than a month after I joined, I made a whopping $0.13, not much by any standards, but it was $0.13 more than I had when I began. And I’ve never seen a site grow its membership so rapidly! In that same period of time, my friend list multiplied daily to the point I had accumulated over 100 friends. At the time I’m writing this article, mid-November, about two months later, I now have well over 1,200 friends.

What’s making Yuwie lead the pack like it is? It’s a smart marketing strategy known as revenue-sharing. See, rather than investing their profits into massive advertising, the management of Yuwie prefers to share it with their members who are actually doing the hands-on, floor-walking, floor-pounding, door-knocking marketing activities that bring in new members. Consequently, these activities help to build a super-sturdy, super-active social networking site that advertisers would kill for. Imagine this: The more members interact with each other, the more advertising opportunities there are for advertisers. Thus, with increased social networking activities come increased advertisers. This is where the profit rates expand and the increased sharing rates go to the members.

So, what makes a Yuwie member’s site successful (translation: the one that brings the most friends to it and keeps them fully interacting with each other)? Here are some of the ways successful members have increased their friendship rates:

* The first thing they do is to make their profile (page) worthy of viewing. They immediately put up a picture of themselves, their kids, their dogs, their cats, or anything because as the saying goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” And prospective friends tend to become friends with those who have pictures.

* Next they obtain a layout that is aesthetically appealing. They search for what they like and what looks appealing to their prospects. Then they add pictures, videos, guestbooks, or anything they wish to keep their page fresh, interactive, and family-friendly. For protection and privacy, they do not put anything personal on their page. They take safety and privacy into serious consideration. They think “Safety First!”.

* They accept all friend requests and they add as many friends as they possibly can. They know that the more friends they have, the more page views they’ll get.

* They are permanent students. They look for opportunities to learn from the pros. They look for online prospects who have lots of friends and join them.

* They join groups, called clubs. They look at their friends’ profiles to see what clubs they have joined and which ones might be of interest to them.

* They always reply to comments and messages from their friends and prospects. They practice what they preach because they know when people take the time to give them page views by leaving comments and/or messages, they always return the favor and comment or message them back.

* They keep in touch with their downline, their recruits (known as referrals). They know that a big part of being successful with Yuwie is in being a leader and in training their referrals so that they know what to do to make money. They know that when their recruits make money, they make money. Because they also know that inactive referrals don’t make anyone money, they focus a major portion of their time training their referrals. If they don’t have the time to training adequately, they ask a reliable and trusted friend to help get them started.

* They post blogs and create clubs to generate more page views. They constantly look for great ways to send people to their page, get more friend requests, and increase your page views.

* Finally, they spend another major portion of their time recruiting, recruiting, recruiting! This is probably the most important thing they would say they do.

So, what a combination! Yuwie has the busiest, most-member interactive social networking site! Advertisers get large numbers of prospects to whom they can show their goods and services. Yuwie has a high-quality, hyper-active social networking site to offer its advertisers. And members make tons of new friends from all over the world and, most importantly, they get paid! A triple win situation if ever I saw one!

Myspace (http://www.myspace.com) is currently developing a digital download store that will be known as MyStore(http://www.snocap.com/join/store/). The company is partnering with web-based music distributor Snocap to create a feature that will let bands sell their music through their Myspace site. Users will be able to buy, download and play MP3s on any device like iPods and the Zune.

Despite tremendous sales potential, some bands find the new technology troubling. Myspace artists are concerned about the unknown profit margin that will be charged and the artistic issues involved in distributing one song at a time.

“Myspace has become a massive online network and viral marketing tool,” says Dan-O, singer/songwriter in the rapidly up-and-coming Myspace band Phoenix Tree from New York City (http://www.myspace.com/phoenixtree, http://www.pheonixtreetheband.com). “The ability to sell tracks on our site will be an incredible new feature.”

iTunes charges 99 cents for each song but Myspace will allow the band to set the cost. Artists using Myspace currently can put up to four songs on their site that users can listen to for free. Some bands allow fans to download some sample tracks as MP3s. While some bands have decided not to offer this option, Phoenix Tree offers all of their recordings as free to download, hoping to find new fans and sell CDs. Given the new option to charge for each download, some bands are struggling with the choice between gaining more fans and earning income from their music.

“If you give out a million songs for free you can have a million fans, or you can sell 2,000 songs for 50 cents and just have 2,000 fans,” says Matt Thornton of the band Motorhome (http://www.myspace.com/motorhome). While the money brought in from each song would be helpful, Thornton says, “The charge could deter fans, everyone should be able to hear it”.

But Jake Espy from the band Roe (http://www.myspace.com/roerock) thinks that MyStore will help musicians. “Any local artist would think an opportunity to put their music out there and sell it is a good thing,” he says. While Roe already sells music through iTunes and CD Baby, Espy says that, “Any new avenue will benefit both the fans and the band. “

Another area of concern is the issue of distributing single MP3s versus full-length CDs. Many online artists complain that selling tracks individually takes away the feel of their album. “Selling just one song is just selling one idea,” Thornton from Motorhome says. “I don’t personally think it’s enough. You have to make people think about the whole thing and get them involved in it.” He says Pink Floyd’s The Wall in one instance of a concept-album that would not be possible under the MyStore business model.

Bands are also worried that owning actually CDs will become obsolete. Jason Larson of The Piggies (http://www.myspace.com/thepiggies) thinks that MP3 sales through Myspace will take away from the purchase of hardcopy CDs. “Music itself is art, but there’s a lot more to it with lyrics and cool artwork (inside the album cover),” he says. “And you get a much better sounding copy of the songs” Larson also adds.

But even amidst the apprehension, most Myspace artists remain optimistic. “Not everyone is into music the same way as musicians are,” Larson says. He says the music community will keep the traditions of hardcopy CDs alive, while other general listeners will have more accessibility to the songs they want to buy. “You need something for everybody,” he says.

Creative and promotional considerations notwithstanding, the business arrangements posed by MyStore are still alarming to musicians. Myspace hasn’t let the public know how they will arrange the profit structure. Even though Snocap’s chief executive Rusty Rueff told Associated Press that they are trying to keep costs “as low as they can,” bands are hesitant.

Dan-O of Phoenix Tree says the profit margin will be the key issue factor in the band’s choice to offer their songs for sale. “iTunes is very professional and above board in that respect, and Myspace will need to be as forthright” he says. The band gets about 70 cents for purchased downloads costing 99 cents for iTunes customers notes Dan-O.

Although there are many worries among Myspace artists, it seems that most will add music to the new service. “We made an album, spent a lot of money and don’t expect to get it back,” Larson of The Piggies says. “But if we can get money to drive to the next show, then that’s what selling our songs is for.”

Parents: Warn Your Teens about the Dangers of Using Social Networking Websites

Online social networking websites? What are they? If you are not an internet user yourself, you may be completely unaware of social networking websites, what they are, and how they operate. The first step in protecting your teen is to famialrize yourself with them. Social networking websites are known as online communities that aim to connect internet users with each other. Unfortunately, these social networks have become the stomping grounds for many online predators and who are they after? Teenagers and chances are your teen may be one of them.

When it comes to protecting your child, your first thought may be to prohibit the use of online networking websites. Of course, you can do this if you want to. You are the parent, you can do anything that you want; however, there is really no need to. Despite the fact that danger exists, social networking sites are relatively safe, even for teenagers. However, to be safe and stay safe, your teenager needs to know what to avoid and who to be on the lookout for. Essentially, this means that they best way to protect your child from online predators is to educate them on the danger that is out there.

One of the first things that you may want to discuss with your child is who they are talking with online. Although they may not want to give you an answer, you need to emphasize the importance of knowing who they are talking to. Since social networks work to connect individuals who do not physically know each other it may seem impossible, but it can be done. Your child should fully read and try to understand the content of their friend’s online profiles. This will enable them to watch out for inconsistent stories or any inaccurate information. Tell your teen that if they learn that someone is being untruthful they need to end the conversation right away.

In addition to who your teen is taking to, it is also important to learn what they are talking about. As with who they are talking to, your teenager may not want to give you a straight answer. Even if you are unable to get an answer out of them it is important to let them know what is appropriate and what is not. Be sure they know that it is best to completely avoid individuals who like to speak of sex, drugs, and other illegal activities. Although they may enjoy having a number of online friends, there are plenty of other individuals, especially teenagers, who would more than willing to have pleasant and harmless conversations with them.

Perhaps, the most important thing to discuss with your teenager about social networking sites is arranging physical meetings. Let them know that these meeting are unacceptable. There have been numerous reports, over the past few years, of teenagers being lured away from their home in hopes of meeting a new friend, who they thought was their age. Unfortunately, many of these online friends turn out to be older and, in many cases, sexual predators. In the event that your teenager wants to meet an online friend and you feel that they would with or without your permission, you may want to offer to go with them. Of course, it is advised that you use caution and all meet in a public place.

By keeping the above mentioned points in mind, your child should still be able to use social network sites, but use them safely. In addition to the above mentioned safety concerns and precautionary measures, you may have your own. Whether you do or not, it is important that you keep your child aware of the dangers that lurk online, awareness is the key.

Sense the recession I have noticed an increase of people trying to make money online. Every day when I wake up and check the webmaster forums that I participate in there is someone trying to jump in and make it on the web. When I speak with these individuals I notice that they have no clue why there new website that they bought of the TV is not making the millions that was promised. Well when you join us (the millions of people online trying to make money) you must realize we don’t like sharing our prosperity. I understand that it sounds harsh, but every visitor a website in the “make money” niche gets is a visitor that I could have made money on if they had come to my website. So when you begin online you must realize you have entered the most competitive environment on earth. If you are not willing to give up everything you have and fight constantly with websites in your niche for the top of Google SERPs (search engine ranking pages) then the best thing you can do is attempt a different career.

So how much time daily should a webmaster work on his website. Well this really depends on which niche (category of website/blog) you choose to enter. Personally I have entered into two very competitive niches which are website marketing and making money online. The latter (making money online) is the one where I found out what it really takes to make it online. It took 5 months of working a minimum of twelve hours daily until I finally saw payoff for my efforts. What is funny the money has nothing to do with success online it is only a byproduct. You will know that you have made it when you wake up and check your email to find that there is a bunch of people wanting to exchange links and asking how you reached the position you did in the SERPs. You will also know when you check backlinks and see them popping up from webmasters and bloggers using your site as an example of “making it”. After everything it took to get onto the top of Google and the money that came from it I still find the greatest satisfaction of becoming the dominating presence in a niche.

Like I said previously working at home is truly one of the most difficult professions that you can choose, but also one of the highest paying. As of right now I make over two hundred dollars daily from a multiple line of online incomes. The majority of these incomes are residual meaning that even if I quit today they would still make me money for a long time to come. These incomes grow every day, the reason for this is I tend to never be satisfied with my presence online and I am constantly adding pages from myspace, facebook, twitter, digg, and a ton of other social sites as well as starting up new blogs on a monthly basis. Anyway this is a brief description of what it takes to make it online if you would like to learn about the technicalities then I would recommend spending time on such forums as v7n webmaster forum and Digital Point forums.

Making money online can be difficult. It can also be easy. How can it be both difficult and easy at the same time? The difference is: your attitude and the tools you are given to get started.

Now, we all know that there are several ways to make money online, and one of those very popular choices is through affiliate marketing. If you don’t know what affiliate marketing is, it’s basically like a joint venture between a vendor and an affiliate. The vendor is a company or individual that produces a product or service and sells that service. The affiliate is someone like you or me who signs up with that vendor, most likely because we like their product, and we are given full rights to sell that product through a unique hyperlink. When someone purchases through your link, you earn a percentage commission on that sale. So, if someone buys an eBook that cost $47 and you earn a 50% commission on that sale, you just earned $23.50 on that one sale.

Affiliate marketing is such a great option because you don’t even need your own website. It seems pretty easy, right? Well, that depends.

A lot of people are dabbling in affiliate marketing, so there’s a lot of competition out there. I can speak for myself. I have spent the past five months figuring out how to make money online.

I went to my local bookstore and bought a book on website design, a book on search engine optimization, a book on blogging, a book on web copy writing, and a book on social media. Not only that, but I have spent money on some guy’s bogus traffic-building product (cost me $77) and I even spent money on a product called Commission Blueprint, which teaches you how to make affiliate sales through advertising on Google.

So, what did all this stuff do for me? I would say that I know a lot about each separate component, after reading and using all these books and videos. Commission Blueprint really IS a great product, and I did make one sale. Unfortunately, I have to compare this product to gambling. This product basically teaches you how to advertise through pay-per-click campaigns (and nothing else) to make affiliate sales.

With pay-per-click campaigns, you would normally sign up with Google Adwords to create a text ad with your affiliate link. You have to pay Google money when someone clicks on your ad. You are gambling away your money in hopes of making enough profitable sales. I tried it, and after I saw that I had two clicks on my Google advertisement, I saw that I had gotten a sale.

My first sale!

I made about $20 and those two clicks cost me about 50 cents. A profit of $19.50 is not bad at all. Then guess what happened? I got over 200 more clicks and didn’t get one sale. How much did those 200 clicks cost me? About $65.

Do you see how I compare it to gambling? I went from profit gain to profit loss. You really have to invest a lot of money into pay-per-click campaigns and they’re not always going to be winners. In my humble opinion, it’s too volatile.

About a month ago, I came across a guy’s blog about online marketing. I saw that he was promoting a product that I had seen before. I ALWAYS thought that it looked like a complete scam.

Since I had been following this guy’s blog, his YouTube videos, his Facebook profile, and his Twitter updates, I knew this guy was sincerely trying to help people make money online. I couldn’t understand why he was promoting such a sketchy-looking product.

I came across one of his blog posts where he admitted to only promoting products that he knows work well because he uses them himself, which is why he indeed started his blog about online marketing.

Guess what I did? I went ahead and bought the product. I trusted this guy and I bought it. I was going to refund it right away if I discovered that my blogging friend was bluffing.

It’s been almost three weeks now, and I have already made a few hundred dollars (and growing). It’s unbelievable. After five months of studying the separate components of online marketing (blogging, SEO, traffic generation, website design, etc.), I realized that I educated myself a lot on these aspects, but I didn’t quite understand how everything fit together.

I feel like I didn’t succeed with Commission Blueprint because it ONLY focused on one aspect of online marketing, which were pay-per-click campaigns. The great thing about the new product I am using is that it’s made by a group (not one person, a GROUP) of self-made internet millionaires, who have delicately put together a system of all the intricate aspects of online marketing.

It all just fits together to make sense, which is why people make great money with it. What I found amazing is that it offers you the chance to start making “Quick Money” to get experience, and to see that it really does work. After that, you have the opportunity to start making a long-term plan for REAL income.

I’m completely blown away, because I never knew this existed. Yes, I know it sounds cliché, but trust me, it does work. Even the name of the product sounds lame, which is why I turned my back on it over the past five months that I’ve been studying online marketing. Thank goodness for that one loyal blogger that I trusted.

If you’re curious to see what I’m really talking about, then click my link below. Read the whole sales page and please watch the videos as well. I’m not an online marketing guru, but I’m definitely on the path to becoming one, all thanks to this one unique system.
